Wendy & Todd's Halloween Party!

I had the pleasure to cater and attend this cute couple's Halloween party. Wendy had done lots of prep work to have fun decorations and games ready to go when I got there to set up. Plus her table was the perfect size so I didn't need to drag mine in, which is always a bonus. :)

The most popular dessert served that night were the Cake Balls, so I included my version of Bakerella's famous recipe at the end of the post. But first, here's some pictures of the evening, (please excuse the quality, there were black light bulbs to replace regular lighting which was an awesome effect for the party, but not so great for the pictures.)

Cake Balls Recipe:
1 - box white cake mix
1 - can vanilla frosting
1 - bag chocolate chips (white, milk or dark)
Food coloring, if desired

1) Bake the cake in a 9x13" pan according to the directions on the back of the box (remember to add the food coloring, if you decide to use it).
2) When the cake has cooled, crumble into a large mixing bowl with only half the can of frosting. Mix with a spoon until well incorporated.

3) Roll the cake/frosting mixture into bite size balls and line on cookie sheets covered in parchment paper.

4) Refrigerate for several hours. Or you can freeze them for less time. You want them as cold as possible.

5) Melt chocolate, and then dip in the cake balls until completely covered. Then tap off excess chocolate and then line up again on the parchment covered cookie sheets. You can use two forks, or a spoon - this part is always messy for me! Then let the chocolate completely harden.

6) If you want, you can melt some of the opposite chocolate in a ziplock bag in the microwave, cut off the tip and drizzle it over the cake balls as I did. Enjoy!!
